This time in November, when a lot of people are recognising Remembrance Day by the wearing of poppies, I often turn my mind to my own grief – that of my Dad.  It would have been his 96th birthday on 11th November, he has been gone 14 years now, and there are still challenging days.

I want to look at the appropriate Bach Flower remedies to help with grief and bereavement.

How do you cope with the memories of the past?

Sometimes the memories can replay themselves repeatedly in our heads – this often can be detrimental – we may like them but there will come a time when we need to be in the present.  For this we recommend Honeysuckle – the remedy to bring you quietly into the future.  Enable you to focus on what is current and needs to be dealt with.  It won’t erase the past, but it will make the memories easier and allow the future to come to the fore.

Grief and bereavement are difficult subjects to cover, and there are many other Bach Flower remedies that could help you, the Elm for the overwhelm of grief, Mimulus for the fear of being on your own and many more.
