A post about ADHD and children and the Bach Flower remedies

How the Bach Remedies can help with ADHD!

“My husband and I have noticed that our son is showing so many signs of improvement, there are elements of his behaviour that we haven’t seen for at least 3 years!”

This is a quote from the parent of 9 year old boy who has been taking the remedies for the last 4 months – in the last 4 weeks he has played more with his sister without arguing, been going to bed at normal time – instead of sleeping on the sofa, engaging with home education, enjoying the OT activities – asked to do 3 in a week and has done 10!!!

It is quite amazing – please see a little of what we have done.

How Bach Flower remedies can help with ADHD and other neurodiverse situations – in children.

Over the past years a lot more attention has been focused on our children experiencing the symptoms of ADHD and other neurodiverse situations, I have been dealing with at least a dozen children and their families to enable them to find a space of relaxation for their children, with the help of the Bach Flower Remedies.

What situation can I help with? How can the Bach Flower remedies help with ADHD.

Neurodiversity comes in many formats, and most of my experience has come through working with children experiencing ADHD, Autism and Sensory problems, the resulting impact of these problems, is very often frustration, irritation both with themselves, and others.

There can be some emotional outbursts or complete shutdown, there can be episode of rage, and totally irrational behaviour, sometimes it can be anger or aggression shown towards a sibling or parent.

Equally it can just be a case of noise and tears that need to be let out to simply vent to the world regardless of where they are.  There is no rhyme or reason what can occur or where.  It can in many cases be difficult to find the trigger points.

What remedies can help these situations?

In many occasions I have that there has often been a traumatic situation either during birth or pregnancy and this has been treated with Star of Bethlehem and this remedy has given relief to these children.  They have become more relaxed in their attitude and behaviour.  There is often an element of impatience and frustration displayed and this we can use Impatiens – enabling a sense of calm and quiet to happen.

When we also think about triggering situation, we can look at Elm which is for overwhelm, this is a frequently used word when describing how children feel at times of crisis.  Cherry Plum is another one which can help with the control of emotions, it can help with the irrational thoughts and actions.

The Elm flower

When I think about how the children feel after there has been an outburst – often their feelings are of deep sadness and sometimes guilt if they have lashed out, in these cases we will use Gorse for deep despair and then the Pine for the Guilt.

The Resulting Reactions

The results that I have seen and that my clients have witnessed is that their children have become quieter and calmer, the remedies do not solve all of the problems but there certainly seem to have helped to ease situation.  They have told me that their children are more relaxed and less stressed.  Some have moved seamlessly from Junior to Senior School, and yes there maybe a little meltdown but not necessarily daily.

I also advocate the use of the Rescue Remedy products as well, to both help on the spur of the moment with the pastilles or Children’s Rescue Remedy and the night remedy to help with sleep.

If you would like to chat more about these solutions and the remedies, I would be delighted to chat with you about them.   Let me show you how Bach Flower remedies can help with ADHD.  Please message me on www.remediesbyros.com
